refers both to vineyard location and the raising of the winemaking artistry
bar. The Rockpile Vineyard is 2000 feet above sea level on the historic
Tennessee Bishop Ranch. It is the highest vineyard in the exclusive Rockpile
appellation which between Lake Sonoma and the Pacific Ocean. The shallow
rocky soil, long sunny days and temperate nights are ideal for cultivating
intense, dense, complex Bordeaux varietals. Open top fermenters with submerged
caps coupled with duel temperature fermentation, add richness, balance
and character to this exceptional wine. 3% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot and 89% Cabernet Sauvignon.
