2015 The Confessor, Branham Vineyard, Rockpile
The confessor is a wine of outstanding lineage. It recognizes the venerated family history of winemaker Dan Barwick. His family records date back to Robert de Dene (1042 to 1088), who was wine steward to Edward the Confessor, King of England. We honor this family ancestry with a Rhone inspired blend from the Branham Vineyard, which harvests its fruit from the most remote reaches of the esteemed Rockpile AVA. This is a wine with intense yet sophisticated characteristics, perfect for it’s regal namesake.
This wine has unknown volumes of Syrah, Grenache and Petit Sirah (I know, not a Rhone grape, but is a half-sister to Syrah).
Only 6 barrels produced.
Pairs with Grilled Tri-tip with Syrah-Pomegranate Glaze created by renowned Chef Bruce Riezenman, owner of Park Avenue Catering, Park 121 and the Pair it!! app
